Studying abroad is undoubtedly a way for young students to "travel thousands of miles". In order to allow more Chinese students to stay in Thailand to take the "road to study abroad" and enter the state of life and study faster.

Recently, the Thailand project team of HKUST High-tech Education Group held the second master and doctoral student exchange symposium at the University of Southeast Asia. Teacher Wu Hanghang, Teacher Du Fei, Teacher Yang Xin, teacher Li Xiaoyang organized the students who recently went to Thailand to study for master's degree and doctor's degree to exchange with each other, share the "dry products" of studying abroad in Thailand, and help the new students to start the "trip to Thailand".

Sun Dongxuan, deputy director of the International Development Center of HKUST High-tech Education Group, attended the exchange meeting and made work plans for the next stage to carry out inter-university international academic exchanges and pave the way for more students to study in Thailand.

"We should have the courage to communicate with our tutors in oral English, discuss academic issues with them in English, have the courage to correct the root, and learn knowledge deeply and thoroughly." At the meeting, Teacher Wu Hanghang and Teacher Du Fei guided the representatives of master and doctoral students to introduce themselves and promote mutual familiarity and understanding.

The students reported on their recent study and life in Southeast Asian University in Thailand, and had cheerful discussions on fresh topics such as shopping around the campus, study accommodation, Thai phone card application, after-school meeting places, visa transfer and renewal. They generally felt that the climate in Thailand was suitable, the campus of Southeast Asian University had beautiful scenery, and the infrastructure of teaching hardware and software was complete. I look forward to starting a new chapter in my study and life.

"I have traveled to Thailand, visited the scenic spots in Thailand, and tasted the delicious local seasonal fruits. Now, as an international student, I enter the University of Southeast Asia, where I learn skills and immerse myself in the mystery of Thai culture. How can it not be exciting?" In the process of communication, many new students expressed their concerns about whether they could adapt to the professional study in the first semester of studying abroad as soon as possible. Teacher Wu Hanghang and Teacher Li Xiaoyang gave advice and help to the students' doubts from the preview of professional course chapters, the timely questioning of questions that they did not understand, and the follow-up of how to write emails to ask the tutor for follow-up and consolidation.

The last two teachers respectively made a comprehensive and in-depth interpretation and sharing with students on the recent academic planning, study examination, internship, thesis writing, thesis publication, graduation requirements, employment and further study after graduation, so that students can clearly refine the learning objectives and tasks in the next stage.

"Studying abroad is not only the main channel for the cultivation of international talents, but also an important source for promoting the construction of high-level talents in various industries at present and even in the future."

At the exchange meeting, Sun Dongxuan, deputy director of the Internationalization Development Center of HKUST High-tech Education Group, encouraged the members of the Thai project team to strengthen cooperation with Thai universities, actively absorb advanced concepts, build platforms such as scientific research cooperation, professional practice, and academic resource sharing through multiple channels, and strive to improve the level and quality of student internationalization, talent internationalization, teaching internationalization, scientific research internationalization and management internationalization. At the same time, it is also hoped that the academic and life tutors stationed in Southeast Asian universities will do a good job in the service of overseas students and alumni in Thailand, and continue to enrich the study and life of international students in Thailand.
